Terms of Use

Last updated: 6 July 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and the operator of Plesica ("Plesica", "we", "us") and govern your access to and use of the Plesica website, the web app at app.plesica.com, and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Operator: Plesica is operated by Vojtěch Průša, Pod Vinicí 244, 286 01 Vrdy, Czech Republic, Business ID (IČO) 07504829 — a self-employed individual registered under the Czech Trade Licensing Act (not VAT-registered). Contact: support@plesica.com.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country, to use the Service. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. Notify us at support@plesica.com if you suspect unauthorised use. You must provide a valid email address and verify it; some features require a verified account.

An account may be shared between learners (for example, family members). Where it is, you remain responsible for everything done through the account and for ensuring every user agrees to these Terms.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

3. Your content

The folders, cards, decks, imported data, and other material you create or upload ("Your Content") remain yours. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you. You are responsible for Your Content and for having the rights to use it. We do not claim ownership of Your Content and do not use it for advertising or sell it.

4. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available but provide it "as is" and "as available". We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time. We may also add, change, or remove features. We will give reasonable notice of material changes where practical.

5. Price, subscriptions and billing

The core of the Service — unlimited cards, folders and decks, both study modes, offline use, sync, and import/export — is free of charge, and what is free today will not be moved behind a paywall. Optional paid extras are described below; you never need them to keep using your existing data.

We currently offer two optional paid products: the Plesica Plus subscription (billed monthly or yearly; it renews automatically until cancelled) and the one-time lifetime supporter purchase, which grants every Plus feature for as long as the Service exists. Plus currently includes the AI Scan feature with a monthly AI-usage allowance; an optional one-time AI-usage top-up can be bought separately. The exact price, the billing period, and what each tier includes are always shown in the app before you pay.

Purchases are processed by our merchant of record, Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd / Paddle.com Inc.), which handles the checkout, payment, invoicing, and applicable taxes. Paddle appears on your bank statement, and Paddle's buyer terms apply to the purchase alongside these Terms. We never see or store your full card details.

You can cancel a subscription at any time with one click on the in-app Subscription screen — never by "contacting support". Cancelling stops the renewal: the subscription keeps running until the end of the period you already paid for, and you can undo the cancellation until then. We do not charge anything after a cancellation takes effect.

AI features are subject to a fair-use allowance (currently €1 of model usage per monthly window for Plus members, plus any top-up credit, which never expires). The allowance protects the Service from abuse: when it is exhausted, AI features pause until the window resets or a top-up is bought — everything else keeps working.

Refunds are governed by our Pricing & Refund Policy, which includes a 14-day money-back guarantee on first purchases and honours your statutory rights, including the EU 14-day withdrawal right. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory consumer rights.

6. Intellectual property

The Service itself — including its software, design, branding, the "Plesica" name and logo, and all related materials (excluding Your Content) — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service; they do not transfer any ownership to you.

7. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data will never be lost. This does not affect any statutory rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be subject to the courts of the Czech Republic, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere. If you are an EU consumer, you may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
