A→B, B→A or both. Each direction keeps its own progress — a session runs one side first, then the other.

Every card has its box

The interval until a card returns doubles with every success. What you know, you see less often. What slips away comes back fast.

Knew it
The card moves up a box and returns after a longer interval. Box 8 is Mastered.
Forgot
The card drops back to the start and you'll see it again soon. No half-measures — either you know it, or it comes back.
